Okay, so I bought this charm bracelet with my birth name on it, so that way, when I get people to use a unisex nick name, I won't forget who I am.
It's my biggest fear, so I thought this would be a good way to conquer it, and indeed, it was.

I'm going to wear it every day. And when the chain breaks or it doesn't fit, I take the pendant and wear it as a necklace or keychain.

It somewhat has something to do with bullying. This pendant will be there to remind who I am even when people try to change me. You know?

that's pretty cool. it seems like nearly every trans* person i've talked to has just wanted to completely get rid of hir birth name, which is weird to me. i mean, i've never really thought about how well my name fits me- because it's *mine*, it describes and represents me, whether i'm traditionally feminine or masculine. and i've had it for me whole life!

Thanks ^_^ I know what you mean. I still very much love my name, I wouldn't get it changed legally. It's been my name for my entire life, I've grown to love it. I don't understand how someone could hate their name so much, but it's not my choice anyway.
I'm actually gender-fluid, but I plan on at least getting a binder and going clothes shopping. A lot trans* people seem to think that gender-fluid [and anything alike] are just posers looking for attention since they're not entirely FTM or MTF, and it's ridiculous. I really just want a nickname, I'd be fine if someone didn't feel comfortable with a nickname though. I'd respond to both. ^_^
